{"id":4839,"date":"2021-04-14T16:52:47","date_gmt":"2021-04-14T16:52:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arte351.pt\/art\/?p=4839"},"modified":"2021-04-21T18:17:16","modified_gmt":"2021-04-21T18:17:16","slug":"monte-hellman-homenageado-pelo-leffest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arte351.pt\/art\/2021\/04\/14\/monte-hellman-homenageado-pelo-leffest\/","title":{"rendered":"Monte Hellman homenageado pelo LEFFEST"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cUm grande artista da arte cinematogr\u00e1fica e um poeta minimalista\u201d \u2013 foram estas as palavras de Quentin Tarantino quando entregava a Monte Hellman, em Venez, o Le\u00e3o de Ouro Especial, atribu\u00eddo a Road to Nowhere (2010).<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hellman, que estava internado no Eisenhower Medical Center em Palm Desert, Calif\u00f3rnia h\u00e1 um par de dias, morreu esta madrugada.<\/p>\n<p>Num texto publicado no cat\u00e1logo do <a href=\"https:\/\/arte351.pt\/art\/2020\/10\/24\/o-leffest-regressa-em-novembro-para-a-sua-14a-edicao\/\">LEFFEST<\/a>\u201912, Bill Krohn dizia que quando perguntavam ao realizador qual era o seu filme preferido de todos quanto fizera, ele respondia sempre: \u201co \u00faltimo\u201d. E foi para apresentar esse \u00faltimo filme, o premiado<span>\u00a0<\/span><em>Road to Nowhere<\/em>, e falar da sua obra, que o festival apresentava em retrospectiva, que Hellman esteve connosco durante v\u00e1rios dias, nesse ano em que o homenage\u00e1mos.<\/p>\n<p>Como Coppola ou Scorsese, Hellman iniciou a sua carreira no cinema com Roger Corman. Teve um longo romance com os directores de fotografia europeus e o seu dom\u00ednio da luz natural (citamos ainda Bill Krohn) e despertava uma enorme devo\u00e7\u00e3o nos actores com quem trabalhava. Foi com ele que se reavivou a carreira de Jack Nicholson nos \u201cwesterns existencialistas\u201d<span>\u00a0<\/span><em>O Furac\u00e3o<\/em><span>\u00a0<\/span>(1965) e<span>\u00a0<\/span><em>Duelo no Deserto<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/em>(1966). Nicholson, seu amigo, trabalharia com ele em mais dois filmes. Em 1997, o realizador George Hickenlooper assinou o document\u00e1rio<span>\u00a0<\/span><em>Monte Hellman: American Auteur<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Realizador m\u00edtico e singular, foi o autor de obras-primas como as atr\u00e1s referidas e ainda<span>\u00a0<\/span><em>Two Lane Blacktop \u2013 A Estrada n\u00e3o Tem Fim<\/em><span>\u00a0<\/span>(1971), certamente o seu filme mais c\u00e9lebre (\u201co<span>\u00a0<\/span><em>road movie<\/em><span>\u00a0<\/span>por excel\u00eancia e um dos grandes filmes americanos\u201d,<span>\u00a0<\/span><em>The New York Times<\/em>),<span>\u00a0<\/span><em>Cockfighter<\/em><span>\u00a0<\/span>(1974, outro<span>\u00a0<\/span><em>road movie<\/em>), ou<span>\u00a0<\/span><em>Silent Night, Deadly Night<\/em><span>\u00a0<\/span><em>3: Better Watch Out<\/em><span>\u00a0<\/span>(1989), entre outras.
