After debuting in Lisbon in 2022, her Talante exhibition gave its name to the cultural space in LX Factory, which she now curates. This time, Ci\u00e7a brought together images that convey the abstract and the sensations she experienced during her first year living in Portugal. The inauguration will be on March 16th at Espa\u00e7o Talante, with free entry for all.<\/p>\n<p>Through her photographs, Ci\u00e7a portrays her feelings of freedom and discovery of the world. She expresses her broadened horizons and the many new seas to be navigated, having moved to Lisbon with her family. Explains the artist:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I believe this exhibition goes beyond photography. These compositions become a narrative. There is a part, for example, where the photos show contrasts like cities and wastelands, to make us think about overpopulation. In another section, we have over 200 images with different colors and visions of photography&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Ci\u00e7a Castello has been a photographer for 20 years. In 2019, she presented her first exhibition in the Brazilian cities of Belo Horizonte and Rio de Janeiro. In February 2022, she held her first exhibition in Lisbon at the Ler Devagar bookstore. In April 2022, she took her exhibition to Paris at the Foyer of the L&#8217;Arlequin cinema, where she exhibited her photos alongside the opening presentation of the film Pixinguinha, which she had casted.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/arte351.pt\/art\/tag\/espaco-talante\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Espa\u00e7o Talante<\/a> is a cultural center essentially of the Portuguese language, which aims to bring together all types of arts that are the best of the language that connects Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Cape Verde, S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9 and Pr\u00edncipe, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, and Mozambique. The Espa\u00e7o Talante is inside the Ler Devagar bookstore, in LX Factory. The cultural center is curated by Antonio Grassi and Ci\u00e7a Castello.<\/p>\n<p>Antonio Grassi, the center&#8217;s other curator, was the president director of the Inhotim Institute until early 2022. In addition to his extensive experience in theater, cinema, and television, he was the Secretary of Culture for the State of Rio de Janeiro, the president of the Municipal Theater Foundation of Rio de Janeiro, the vice-president of the National Forum of State and Cultural Directors and Secretaries, a member of the board of directors of the World Cultural Forum, and the president of the National Arts Foundation (Funarte), the cultural arm of the Brazilian Ministry of Culture. He was the curator of Brazil&#8217;s participation in two editions of the Prague Quadrennial, having won the Triga de Ouro &#8211; the show&#8217;s top prize &#8211; in 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Ci\u00e7a Castello&#8217;s photography exhibition at Espa\u00e7o Talante will be open to the public from March 16th until April 30th, from Tuesday to Sunday, from 2 pm to 6:30 pm.
