EGEAC launches Sardines Contest for Lisbon Festivities

EGEAC – Empresa de Gestão de Equipamentos e Animação Cultural, E.M., S.A. has launched the Sardines Contest, an initiative that aims to encourage participation in the image campaign for the Lisbon Festivities.

According to the rules of the contest, the proposals for sardines presented may be freely used by EGEAC in all materials developed for the promotion, dissemination, and/or communication of the Lisbon Festivities, including exhibitions, free distribution publications, social networks, promotional spots, and others. The copyright of the proposals submitted for the purposes of the contest is the property of EGEAC, and the organization has the rights to reproduce, distribute, and publicly communicate the work.

The contest is open to Portuguese and foreign residents and non-residents, individuals, and companies of all ages. However, employees and collaborators of EGEAC and the Lisbon City Council, as well as their spouses, are not eligible to participate.

The candidates are responsible for the originality of the proposal presented, guaranteeing their authorship and assuming all the responsibility arising from possible claims of third parties regarding copyright, related rights, personality, or others that arise from applicable law.

The proposals must be original and recognized as sardines, and cannot be confused with any other fish. The contest accepts any digital or manual technique.

Each candidate can submit up to three proposals. The deadline for submission is April 15, and the finalists will be announced on April 30. The winning sardine will be the official image of the Lisbon Festivities 2023, and the winner will receive a prize of €1,500.

The use of the proposals for commercial purposes will be subject to a specific agreement to be included in a contract between the parties. When the authors or third parties use the proposals submitted, they must include the mention of participation in the contest and inform EGEAC in advance.
