El Corte Inglés Cultural Scope is pleased to invite you to the 1st Session of the Conference Cycle: “Poetry in Two Parts” by Nuno Artur Silva, to be held on May 8th at 6:30 pm, in the Cultural Scope Room, 6th floor of El Corte Inglés in Lisbon.
In this two-part conference, Nuno Artur Silva, a prominent figure in Portuguese culture, will take the audience on a poetic journey exploring different ways of expressing poetry, from simple readings to translations into images, sounds, songs, and films.
The first part of the conference, “How to Create a Personal Anthology of Poetry (a disobedience manual),” will encourage attendees to discover their own poetic voice and explore the different ways of experiencing poetry.
In the second part of the conference, “This is not a Poetry Recital,” Silva will demonstrate how poetry can be found not only in the words themselves but also in the silence, the unspoken, and the unexpected.
Nuno Artur Silva is a well-known figure in the Portuguese cultural scene, having founded and directed several creative agencies, television channels, and satirical newspapers. He has also written and produced books, plays, television shows, and cultural and political debate programs.
The event is free, but registration is required. Interested participants can register on the event’s website or at the Information Point on the ground floor of El Corte Inglés Grandes Armazéns in Lisbon. Each session of the conference cycle requires separate registration.
